HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE TO SOMEONE WHO DOESN’T KNOW YOU?
I think I'm a balance of classic and retro. I love feeling timeless, but with room for things (and fabric) to flow.
I seem to have evolved into a more practical style. I'm usually running around behind the camera, so I wear a lot of button down shirts and high waisted jeans or trousers.
DO YOU HAVE A STYLE STAPLE? SOMETHING THAT YOU THINK IS A CONSTANT IN YOUR PERSONAL STYLE?
I think a staple for me is red nail polish (my nails are red 80% of the year).
Also, something that makes my family and I smile, is how I will wear white button down shirts and blue jeans. It's a classic look that my grandma has worn for as long as I can remember. They say I'm turning into her, and I hope they're right. 😊
CAN YOU REMEMBER WHAT/WHO WERE YOUR EARLIEST STYLE INFLUENCES WERE IN CHILDHOOD THROUGH YOUR TEENAGE YEARS?
I remember seeing David Bowie when I was young and being totally enamored by all his different characters and how otherworldly they looked (also, his entire look in Labyrinth... 😍 Do I even need to say anything more?). I was also super nerdy, and I loved The Lord of the Rings trilogy. I loved the long hair and flowy gowns that the elves wore. I also had a phase as a teenager where I wore only black for about three years. Even in these Los Angeles summers (insane, I know).
Looking back, I think the thread was that I was always drawn to dramatic looking styles and fashion choices. As a shy kid, I wanted to make a statement with my style and not have to utter a word.

WHAT/WHO ARE YOUR INFLUENCES TODAY?
I really like the effortless look of french women. They can make a simple button down or sweater and jeans still look so feminine. I like Garance Dore's sense of style and value of comfort. I also like what Orion Carloto wears. And Lana Del Rey is just dreamy in everything she creates. I'm also a huge fan of science fiction and all these futuristic shows and movies like Black Mirror or Blade Runner, where people are wearing minimalist/dystopian fashion. I gravitate towards that aesthetic also.
And like when I was younger, I'm still inspired by fashion from the 60's-80's.
WHAT IS A TREND YOU’RE OBSESSED WITH?
Polka dots have really grown on me. I actually might own a polka dot dress in every sleeve length.
Also, layered gold necklaces and gold earrings. I can't get enough.
WHAT ABOUT GUILTY PLEASURES? A TREND YOU SECRETLY ADORE?
Tasteful side boob. (I wish I had more excuses to pull off such a look 🙏)
HOW DOES JEWELRY PLAY IN TO YOUR STYLE AND YOUR STORY? WHAT ARE YOUR EARLIEST MEMORIES WITH JEWELRY?
My first memories of jewelry are a bit of a juxtaposition of simplicity and statement. On one hand, I remember my mother only really wearing two styles of studs. The plain gold ones you get when you first pierce your ears, and then maybe a pearl on a special occasion. The second is of my abuela, who is on the other side of the spectrum. She always had closets full of colorful clothes and animal prints, rows of shoes, and so much jewelry! She loves big bangles and cuffs and big statement rings and earrings.
I grew up not really being into jewelry, despite two of my jobs having been in this industry. (I actually only got my ears re-pierced this August! 😳) I still tend to keep it minimal, with only rings and earrings in my daily rotation. But, I like those pieces to have purpose and sentimentality. I am more likely to wear an heirloom or a gift than something I have to go hunting for in a store or online for.
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE KOLLECTIN PIECES? WHY DO YOU LOVE THEM?
The first time I was introduced to Kollectin was at a brand mixer last December and Mariana was wearing the Mia Earrings. Those little tigers and I have been inseparable ever since (I have a gold accent belt that was my grandmothers from the 60's with lions and tigers on it and it pairs PERFECTLY with them).
I love hoops, so my next purchase was the Ursula Earrings.
And I'm obsessed with resin... the Jess Necklace is another go to.
And a surprising pick for me was the Taisie Earrings. I modeled for a photoshoot this October and I packed some Kollectin pieces to shoot, and those ones were intimidating at first, but once I put them on, I fell in love with the artistic shape. No regrets there.
