How To Be A #GIRLBOSS
Hey there Gorgeous!
If you’re like me, you’ve probably heard the term “Girlboss” thrown around quite a bit by now. After all, it’s 2018, and the term is probably most widely known to be coined in 2015 by American entrepreneur Sophia Amoruso, founder of women’s fashion retailer Nasty Gal. Her autobiography, #GIRLBOSS, details how she went from dumpster diving to founding one of the fastest-growing retailers in the world. Pretty impressive, huh?!
So, what does it mean to be a #GIRLBOSS?
We get it: “Girlboss? Why not just use the term boss when referring to a female higher-up?” Well, we do. Doesn’t everybody?! However, GIRLBOSS means so much more than just a term that designates a woman who’s in charge. GIRLBOSS is a movement. Being a GIRLBOSS means taking charge of your life, and it represents the women who are confident enough to pursue their own ambitions amidst the haters and naysayers. After all, women have to virtually fight their way into “boys clubs” across most industries, don’t they? Why not celebrate the women who are continuously proving everyone wrong? That’s what being a #GIRLBOSS is all about: empowering one another to fight for your dreams.
Speaking of badass women, Kollectin had an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G panel with Kollectin's very own Co-Founder & CEO, Nadia Lee, and Style Stars, Jezlan Moyet (Good Morning Lalaland) and Xandrea Garay (Ultimate Event Planning), about how to succeed as a #GIRLBOSS in the digital age. Check it out below - we promise it’s worth every second!
Don’t forget: you are smart, you are beautiful, and you can do anything you put your mind to. And after you hear the powerful words from these inspiring ladies, you can add #GIRLBOSS to that list, too!
